Description of the video:
Greetings and welcome to the IU Fort Wayne Graduation Celebration. My name is Ann Obergfell and I am the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Operations at IU Fort Wayne. It is my distinct honor and privilege to celebrate and congratulate all students graduating from the Fort Wayne campus with a degree from Indiana University as well as our legacy Nursing students who graduate with a degree from Purdue.
The Fort Wayne campus is unique in that while IU Fort Wayne and Purdue Fort Wayne are distinct institutions we live and work together to provide high quality educational experiences for students on our campus.
Today we recognize the following groups:
From the IU School of Dentistry, we recognize; students graduating in Spring and Summer with a Certificate in Dental Assisting, Candidates for the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and the first students to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Technology.
From the IU School of Medicine, we celebrate the students completing the Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging degree as well as the Doctor of Medicine graduates from the Fort Wayne campus.
From the IU School of Nursing, we celebrate the RN to BSN graduates who are receiving their IU degree as well as the Legacy Nursing students, taught so brilliantly by the IUFW School of Nursing faculty, who are receiving their degree from Purdue University.
From the IU School of Social Work, we recognize the Master of Social Work graduates who studied on the Fort Wayne campus.
Finally yet importantly, we celebrate those students who are completing degrees from Indiana University delivered by our colleagues at Purdue Fort Wayne. These students are part of the teach out following the realignment of IPFW and come from the College of Arts and Sciences, the Doermer School of Business, the College of Professional Studies and the College of Visual and Performing Arts. They too are part of our IU family.
I would like to thank Dave Chappell, Marissa Melchi, Jake Huffman and Brandon Kuntz for creating this celebration as well as the IU Fort Wayne leadership and the Purdue Fort Wayne Deans who contributed their words of wisdom and congratulations to the graduates. And I would be remiss if I did not recognize the faculty and staff on the Fort Wayne campus from both IU and Purdue who have guided and supported these students through their academic journey
Congratulations IU Bicentennial class of 2020. This is your day
