Hello. I’m Dr. James Burg. I’m Dean of the College of Professional Studies. And due to the pandemic we can’t gather to celebrate commencement. But it is such a milestone that I still want to say a few things to you and say congratulations. Our college graduates, people who are going to become teachers, counselors, law enforcement personnel, administrators in health, education, and public offices, you are all leaders and change agents in our community. And now, maybe more than ever, we need you, your skills, your creativity, and your optimism to go out into our community and change lives. Normally, I am fortunate, and I am the final person in the receiving line. I get to shake your hand and hand you your diploma, but because we have a deadly virus, I’ve hired a stunt double, to come in your place. Right hand shake, Left hand diploma cover, turn to the camera and smile big! And now, to signify that you are a graduate, you may move your tassel from the right to the left, congratulations! Yay!
