Once you pick a major and are admitted to a degree-granting school, you will have access to your school’s academic advisors and career professionals, who specialize in your area of study.
Ashley Msikinya has been an academic advisor in the School of Health & Human Sciences (SHHS) since January 2017. She advises current IUFW & IUPUI students pursuing bachelor’s degrees in Health Sciences. She oversees the SHHS Ambassador program, serves on the Executive Committee of the Jaguar Academic Advising Association, and the campus-wide First Generation Celebration Committee. Prior to beginning with SHHS, Ashley worked for the Division of Student Affairs and the IU Office of Alumni Relations. She graduated from IUPUI with a B.A. in Psychology in 2010, received her M.S.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs in 2012 from Indiana University Bloomington, and earned her Certificate in Academic Advising from Kansas State University in 2015. Msikinya is certified in the IU Coaching Conversations program and through Florida Atlantic University’s Appreciative Advising program.
