I started my nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and went on to earn my Associate Degree in Nursing. I returned to school to complete my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and then completed a Master of Science in Nursing. I have a broad range of experience which includes long term care & rehab, critical care, OB, case management, inpatient psychiatric care and 13 years in the operating room prior to transitioning into nursing education full time. I have also enjoyed teaching Nursing Fundamentals clinical rotations and was a Magnet Champion while employed with Parkview Regional Medical Center. I am passionate about simulation and interested in examining ways to incorporate cultural competence and nursing care of the adult LGBTQ population into healthcare simulation.
